Jimmy Rider, former Kent State player under Stricklin and all time hits leader in a MAC and holder of numerous records at Kent State. The article mentions that he was a 26th round pick and played three years of professional baseball.
Not sure what happened with Brandon May.... I just assumed that he'd be back next year. This may mean fewer edited posts on this forum....
Anyway, it's good when former players are able to hook up with former coaches. I really enjoyed seeing Joey Side and Joey Lewis in our dugout during Perno's last season, not to mention Jason Jacobs. I hear that Jason Eller has reached out to a couple of our former players over at Augusta State (or "Georgia Regents College", as it's called now)...
Sounds like Rider will be a nice addition to the coaching staff... I suppose it's just about time to get some scrimmages under way over there...
