First He claimed the search for Our HC was ''wide open'', that he was forming a search committee, then today He claimed He didn't decide on Kirby till hours before it was announced.
I MUST be missing something, why does He feel the need to BS everybody ?

He decided on Kirby when Kirby showed interest in SC job, I don't think Kirby ever really was interested in that job however..I don't think he wanted to not have a chance to hire him.. That's the reason Richt was fired is what all the gamecock radio shows are saying.. I dk that for a fact ,but they really believe it..

"AD speak". Trying to divert attention to not blow what you really want. Especially when coach is involved in game of national implications.

Technically, in a stretch, you could say it was wide open since you have to get permission to speak with or interview. In this case, formal interview after the game. Most of the details leading up to the interview were handled by agent & search firm I would guess.

Clearly not only McGarity but Our athletic Board and key boosters had Kirby at the top of their board all along.
It baffles Me why He is BSing. If it's some kind of childish deal where doesn't want Kirby knowing He was the early choice, it might help explain why He felt threatened when Pruitt pushed for needed improvements.
If He's that insecure He's too small for his position.

He was still lying today though. It looks like a personality flaw to me.

I don't think it's lying when you know this is who you want, but have not formally interviewed. Anything can happen in interview & both parties could disagree on many things.

At this point, Kirby's our coach & reading several boards, the Dawgnation is thrilled with it.

Pretty sure Kirby knew through his agent UGA was interested or through agent, UGA knew Kirby was interested.

Don't believe ADGM was threatened by Pruitt. Pruitt by his own words & actions angered many across the hierarchy of GA athletics.

Yeah, I'm good with the hire. McGarity is misrepresenting the events leading up to hiring Kirby though, that I'm sure of.

Whatever. Believe what you want. All I'm saying, in THAT position, with so much protocol to follow in his own and Kirby's employer at the time, etc. it is what it is.

AD's are politicians that never had to endure the scrutiny that comes with running for a visible office. So, they aren't as deft when they do what politicians have to do for a living, which is split hairs with the truth or, in McGarrity's case when discussing when and how he made the decision to fire Richt and contact Smart/Sexton, outright lie. But, McGarrrity looks positively statesmanlike compared to LSU's Joe Alleva in the aftermath of the Les Miles-Jimbo Fisher CF that took place the last week of the season.
