with experienced, 3rd or 4th year players. If those experienced players are guards, so much the better.

We don't have the tradition to bring enough 1-and-done types to build our team that way, so our best way to build is with 4 year players who get better and better each year.

I thought this was going to be our year. Our big strong experienced guards, (who received votes for all SEC), were going to lead us. They were going to play great defense and control the tempo. They would "flawlessly" execute the offense and get our newbie bigs - good scoring opportunities and easy buckets.

Wrong!

KG and CM have actually regressed. You can say their numbers look ok, but they are no longer role players like years past. They were to be the main focus. They have been so easy to contain that other teams have shifted their focus to stopping our 5-10" (projected to be a role player) guard and sophomore post player.

Did they not develop because of CMF coaching or did they not develop despite CMF's coaching efforts? Or did we project them to be better than what they are?

My biggest take from the Vandy game was - how many easy baskets they got. They killed us in the paint and had a lot of wide open 3 pointers. (Wish JJ could get a few wide open 3 point shots). Our scheme didn't give us many uncontested, on-balance, un-hurried shot attempts from our highest percentage "spots".

I have been a MF supporter, but it is getting harder and harder to stay that way after each game.
If we can keep Harris and Crump, and not lose any current players - I think it is time to move.
