First, still very proud of the way we fought to make the tourney down the stretch. But it's pretty clear to me that there was no offensive revelation by Mike White. The turnaround was partially benching Montgomery but mostly attributable to Silas going on an absolute heater.
That was my suspicion after the Oklahoma game and it was confirmed tonight. We went right back to iso and prayer ball against OU as soon as our motion high stopped working and did the same thing tonight. Yes, Gonzaga had a great night and Few is a great coach. But their defense was mediocre by nearly all metrics and yet they completely stifled us today. That's not talent, it's coaching.
I don't know why Mike White doesn't (and never has, at any stop) value spacing and rapid ball movement, but after watching Gonzaga whip the ball around live tonight I wish he would start.
