I am hoping to receive any advice and/or a recommendation for a good attorney.
My mother has breast cancer. Days before her first chemo treatment, she was hit by a negligent driver that was distracted by a dog in their lap, totaling my mom's car and resulting in injuries to my mom and passenger. Police report confirms the other driver, not my mother, was at fault. The airbags in my mother's car gave my mom 2nd degree burns, burned through her clothes and undergarments, and infected the area around her chemo port. A staph infection.
Now, a result from the accident, my mother is in the hospital (today) with a staph infection where she must receive antibiotics intravenously, daily, for a month, BEFORE she can receive her chemo treatment. You cannot receive chemo treatments if you have a staph infection.
Certainly we have a case here...because of a negligent driver, my mother has an infection that is delaying her chemo treatment for over a month, allowing the cancer to manifest for an extra month before they can attack with chemo.
Any suggestions?
