More on January 6th. Insurrection?

You plead guilty when your only choice to continue a normal life is to plead.
Maybe don’t hit police officers with your flag poles, and you wouldn’t need to be worried about living a normal life? Are those people who were on video doing this only feds, and lastly, if all the feds jumped off a bridge to their deaths, would they be blamed for all the people who followed them, or would they be responsible for their own actions? Help me understand.

Obviously, violent protesters should face penalties that are comparable to others that have committed similar infractions. I haven't seen anyone advocating for complete absolution for those using flag poles as a weapon, etc. However, aren't you curious as to why there are videos of people walking thru open doors with capital police watching like that was their assignment? Do you really think the capital building could be breached by middle aged, unarmed protesters if it was ordered to be locked down?

For every flag pole wielding rioter you can identify, I would bet you could find 2 protesters that were charged for walking thru a door and being in the wrong place. We also know a women that was caught up in a crowd going thru a door and tried to retreat was savagely beaten by security personnel and later died. If I'm not mistaken, the men that tried to reach her and pull her to safety were also charged with crimes.

Yes, the day was ugly and any riot participants should be charged but they are also entitled to due process and that means they are entitled to the truth. If, and I admit it's a huge if, LE had people in the crowd inciting the crowd, we need to know about that as well and the defense team should be able to use improper government actions as part of their defense.

We know the original J6 hearings were more a political show rather than a transparent fact finding investigation. My position is to put all the cards on the table and punish any wrongdoers regardless of whether they breached the capital, lied to the committee and even government staffers that hid info from the public that may have been damaging to the security operation. Yes, you can say rioters trying to stop a constitutionally mandated process is a threat to democracy. Imo, a government that abuses power and tries to hide their actions is a much greater threat to our system of government.
