Nancy throwing down

Have any of them given ANY justification for opposing this? It's unconscionable.
Basically the same core group that has voted against previous bills to deport illegals who assault police and the Laken Riley Act. That is still 3/4 of Democrat Representatives.

I looked for reasonable justification to not pass this bill, such as add on requirements that some would logically find troubling. The only public comment I see comes from Rep. Jayapal, who claims that the bill would hurt survivors of domestic violence, whom she said are often arrested, charged and convicted along with their abusers. She didn't say what in the bill would do that, or how not removing violent criminals protects the rights of the abused.

Jayapal also said the bill "fearmongers about immigrants, instead of working together to fix the immigration system." Again, she didn't explain how targeting violent criminals for deportation amounts to fearmongering.

Is this a situation where this bill also included other things that they actually voted against and repubs are just playing politics here? I ask because we’ve seen it done plenty times before so I don’t want to be naive.
