If you are looking for a way to offer a hand to those in need, I started a GoFundMe for the Caudle family to help raise some funds to help them in the recovery process. The Caudles (Christopher and April) own Buck Hill Campground in Plumtree, NC (located between Spruce Pine and Newland). This area saw unimaginable flooding from the storm and everything there was devastated. During the madness, Christopher was putting himself in danger trying to rescue people who were at risk in the campground. Three people from the campground were washed downstream. Thankfully they were all found and rescued 2 days later.

I had a 5th wheel RV in this campground ... it was turned into a houseboat and was ripped apart. Fortunately, I was not there during the madness as I had gone back to Florida to prepare my house and boats in advance of the storm. Roads and bridges that lead to the campground are destroyed in all directions. It will take years to fully rebuild. As soon as they tell me that I can get access, I will be driving up from Florida and taking whatever supplies I can provide. The funds that I am raising below will go directly to the family to aid in their recovery. The Caudles are a wonderful family who want nothing more than to make other people's lives better. Any help is greatly appreciated. Christopher was a collegiate tennis player at Duke and he enjoys talking to me about football, in particular the Dawgs ... I think he is even becoming a fan ... even if he won't yet admit it. And if you are able to help, give him a "Go Dawgs!" in the comments, as I know that will put a smile on his face.

Thank you and feel free to share.
