So I had to take my dog to get a scrotal ablation on Monday. I took him back today because I noticed some swelling and an infection coming on. They gave him a stronger sedative and a stronger antibiotic. He is mostly acting normal which is both a good and bad thing considering the surgery was just a few days ago.
Admittedly my wife and I are about at the point where we just can't afford another surgery or anything else. We have a baby due in a month and my wife works for a scummy place that has money for multi million track facilities but can't pay for more than 5 days of maternity leave.
The big question, is there anything I can do at home to help the swelling/infection? I work from home so I can keep mostly calm throughout the day and can take time away to do little things as necessary.
Thanks in advance
ETA: Vet cold called me literal minutes after I posted this asking me to come back in so they could give him some ointment. It has been about 5 hours since they gave it to him and the swelling is already going down. They advised me to also start icing it twice a day. So now I get to hold a bag of ice on my dog's non-existent junk twice a day
