Never forget

The sheep bought in hook, line and sinker.
Honestly, on Day 1, I bought in bc we really had no choice. But my attitude abruptly changed about a month in when Trump first announced Warp Speed and the Dems immediately proclaimed they wouldn’t take “Trump’s Vax.” I knew right then and there it was political and nowhere near what we were being told by Herr Fauci and Frau Birx.

But my attitude abruptly changed about a month in when Trump first announced Warp Speed and the Dems immediately proclaimed they wouldn’t take “Trump’s Vax.” I knew right then and there it was political and nowhere near what we were being told by Herr Fauci and Frau Birx.
I was a bit suspicious when:

Trump asked for a small amount to start preparing for the arrival of the virus and the Dem response wasn't that they would quickly approve that funding and go to work to make any resource needed available but that Trump didn't know what he was doing and they would provide a gazillion dollars before we had any idea how much was needed or how it was going to be spent.

Trump announced he wanted to restrict entry into the U.S. for those carrying the virus and halt flights from affected areas (you know, slow the spread type tactics) and he was called a xenophobe and Schumer participated in a parade in Chinatown.

NIH officials that knew damn well that cheap paper and cloth masks were ineffective vs viruses and proper protocols would not be followed got on the masking bandwagon.

From the very beginning we knew we were dealing with a virus and we knew how viruses evolve. Yes, it was literally deadly serious but it was also obvious from very early on that the virus was being used as a political weapon.

What exactly was said that wasn't true?

They said 1 to 2 percent of those infected would die. That's true.

They said someone you know well would die from it. Been true for me several times.

They said it kills the old more than the young. True.

They said you are more likely to die if you have other serious complications. True.

They said it would cause problems at hospitals and make our medical staff work long hours. True.

Long before April 2020, I heard an epidemiologist say that there would be a lot of people say it was all BS because for them it'd have to kill ten percent of the population and you'd have to see kids to middle aged adults die at the same rate as the elderly. It was prophetic. He said some people wouldn't care if the elderly die because they expect them to die anyway, even if it's their own family.

Do you have any real data? Not just someone saying something. Do you know anyone that died from the jab? Let me guess. Thousands of your friends are on the groundhog's mailing list.
That’s not the point I was making. My point, which unfortunately for you is irrefutable, is that one of the primary policy makers lied, causing enormous damage.

Well Trump did lie about COVID, but I wouldn't say he caused enormous damage.

And I find it ironic that you refer to FRAU BIRX earlier in this thread.

Trump's handling of COVID was nothing short of a complete disaster. Conservatives need to quit making excuses for him. He was the head of the federal government. He should have launched Fauci out of a cannon at the first suggestion of lockdowns and never should have used congress to grant immunity from civil lawsuit to pharma companies.

It was used to get Trump out of office. I will always believe the virus was spread intentionally by the CCP.

And, if you know anyone suffering from long covid, you know the impact is very real, can be life-altering and there are millions in the US dealing with some form of it.

Although I agree Trump made several stumbles during Covid , several you mentioned above, I’m not sure how far he could have moved the needle regardless. He pushed to open schools back up in the upcoming fall (most red state governors did, most blue states did not), pushed hard on the vaccination and tried to slow the spread. Realistically, not much more could have been done in the anti-Trump election year politics of 2020. Republicans like Barr and Kemp (who I actually respect and like) totally let him down with changes in swing state election laws without appropriate approval and thought on how it would play out. Then there’s the Trump overall craziness that plays in as well.

I blame his administration for closing schools in the first place and pushing the vaccine, at the behest of big pharma, does not endear me.

I voted for Trump so that the federal bureaucrats lost power not gain it. It was a complete failure on his part.

Kemp was actually fairly strong on COVID but I do blame him and the morons in the state house for passing those asanine voting laws.

Although Trump was the one who signed a bill that funded the dem's voter machine in the cares act.

Trump did some good things and I will be voting for him again but he bears the blame for his failures, and COVID was his second greatest failure

If you get the “vaccine” you won’t contract it.

If you get the “vaccine” you can’t transmit it.

Healthy Children and even babies need the vaccine even though there never was and still isn’t any data showing the vaccine prevented any deaths. Not saying deaths didn’t happen but it was very rare and there is no evidence that this “vaccine” would have prevented it.

They said they weren’t doing gain of function research.

They said this didn’t come from the Wuhan lab

We know that thousands of deaths of people with covid were said to have died from covid.

They said they weren’t working with social media to silence dissenting options.

And on and on.

I stayed up with this.
1. Who said that? It was never 100 percent. It was really high at first and then fell off after a few weeks of the jab. It wasn't as effective as they thought it might be. But everything I read said it looked really effective but they'd need time to know exactly how good it would be.

2. What? Honestly, never heard this. Transmission would be stopped due to the vaccine keeping those with the jab from getting it. The vaccine wouldn't stop a person from getting it and then transmitting it. The hope was that the vaccine would make a large enough pct. of the population immune so that it would stop the spread. Never once heard this from anyone that a vaccinated person who got COVID couldn't spread it.

3. Based on age group, studies continued to show higher death rates among those getting COVID without being vaccinated compared to those getting it after being vaccinated.

4. If they were not doing any at all, then yes, they lied. As far as gain of function and relation to COVID, there is still no proof that gain of function caused COVID.

5. Well, while I'm not gonna be shocked if it did come from the lab, there has been no evidence showing it came from there.

6. I have no clue what this even means. People with COVID died of COVID? Yes. I think that happened.

7. Working with social media to silence dissenting opinions based on real evidence or based on conspiracy theories and quack doctors who have said stupid stuff in the past about vaccines that have knocked out stuff like Polio?

So, you're a Biden supporter. I'm surprised.
Please stop living in the extremes. I do not support Biden. Why does everything have to be this extreme or that extreme? Real life doesn’t happen in the extreme.

Biden is a Democrat so I support virtually none of his policies. And Trump is a scumbag, liar, etc.

Both things can be true at the same time.

And, please, everyone in this thread, never listen to anything Donald effing Trump says. Good lord.
Trump is absolutely a blowhard, lives or at least lived his life like a Kennedy or Clinton and numerous other powerful pols. He'll certainly embellish and even outright lie if he thinks it will serve his goal. Of course or congressional and senate reps can't be sued for slander if the target someone in a speech or debate on the floor of the house or in the Senate. (Remember Harry Reid)

The bottom line is you should be very skeptical of anything ANY politician tells you and Trump's statements are no more misleading than statements made by Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton the cast and crew at MSNBC or Fox News and on and on.

You can call Trump a scumbag all day long and it doesn't change the fact that yes, the O admin was spying on his campaign and the doj illegally spied on his administration. The establishment spent 40 mil and used dozens of FBI agents to investigate him. They used tactics that are reserved for the most dangerous and corrupt organized crime bosses and have even broke client/attorney privilege numerous times and didn't restrict their investigations to criminal activity but were digging for criminal activity and weren't able to pin a single slam dunk felony on him.

So believe whatever you want about Trump but imo, if he was some sort of criminal operator, Crossfire Hurricane would have popped him in a couple of weeks. Instead, you got a personal attorney prosecuted and flipped on Trump over shady dealings that had nothing to do with Trump and you've had several men with clear executive privilege pursued as well. The threat to democracy isn't Trump.

I think we all stayed up with this. Here are a couple of examples of statements you may have missed.

Dr Fauci famous quote is that vaccinated people become a “dead end for the virus”

https://www.newsweek.com/joe-biden-2021-video-saying-vaccinations-prevent-covid-resurfaces-1726900

https://fortune.com/2021/04/01/its-official-vaccinated-people-dont-transmit-covid-19/

Google and other search engines(because of my point number 7) try to limit or bury some of the quotes and videos so most times you have to know where to look or get past page one of you search but they are out there.

Let’s add another lie. Ivermectin. They tried to demolish it by calling it “horse dewormer” and said that it does nothing for Covid. Now, there is more evidence it actually does help. I know it is anecdotal, but I know at least 3 people who used it with great success to either quickly end their symptoms. In another case, a guy I know took it when all of his family got covid. He took care of them while using it and never tested positive for covid and never got any symptoms.

They said Ivermectin was dangerous which of course it is not. It was developed as a human drug long before it was used on animals and is safely used my millions of people all over the world every year.

How about 1 mask, 2 mask, red fish, blue fish? Telling people masks work and the saying you multiple masks?

How about the 6ft distancing BS. A completely arbitrary distance that did nothing? There are still dots on store floors and plexiglass at the gas station.

We didn’t know what we were dealing with and we were throwing a lot darts to see what would help. We all understand that but Fauci and others told us with absolute certainty that they knew what worked and everyone else was spreading “disinformation”. The truth is they were just guessing and we all know that now. So let’s not attack those with different ideas out of hand and follow the government bureaucrats as if they are all knowing because a politician grants them expert status.
When you mix politics and science, you don’t get science, you get politics.

Just like COVID, the vaccine was also learn as you go. Most of the stuff I read looked very positive on zero transmission, but viruses mutate to try to survive and that's what happened. I think their data showed what they said it showed.

Masks were used by the medical community. They actually were telling you not to buy them at first if you remember. They did lie in telling you then that they weren't of any value to you. They wanted them for the doctors and nurses. As soon as they got enough for everyone, then they told everyone to wear them.

Most of this stuff didn't work because people really didn't take precautions. They may have done what they had to do in a store, but outside of that, they did whatever the heck they wanted.

We didn't have that problem where I'm at. The government was ready with their testing and people over here actually were probably more cautious than the government asked them to be.

The perks were we didn't ever really shut down. There were limits to how many could sit at one table at a restaurant, etc. But for the most part, we lived about like we did before. I did teach my classes on Zoom for a year and a half.

They waited until the virus had mutated itself down to a flu like morbidity rate and let it spread then. The vaccination rates over here were well above the US, but no one tried to get us to vaccinate young kids unless they had an underlying condition that could make COVID far more fatal. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1358025/south-korea-national-covid-19-vaccination-rate-by-age/

Hospitals never got overcrowded and the mortality rate here was extremely low.

Korea had a scare with SARS a couple of years before and they were prepared. The US wasn't and it probably won't be the next time either as deniers will laugh at it. But the next time we may be dealing with something far more tragic. If this was a test run, Europe and the US failed miserably.

As far as Ivermectin goes, well I guess it's all in what you want to believe and who you want to be believe....

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2801827

Just some facts that kind of blew my mind how politics drove the thinking despite plain sight stuff right in front of our eyes....

Had a family member out of work for three weeks and could hardly get from bed to recliner every day. Middle aged. Rarely if ever sick. Person still thinks it wasn't a big deal though will tell you it's the sickest they've ever been.

Had another family member that's tough as nails. Thinks he could survive the black plague. Got it and was quarantined at home. Did work from home. Got off the phone with his boss and walked across the living room. Didn't make it. Took three steps and dropped like a fly that hit a bug zapper. Wife called the ambulance. Middle aged. Still thinks it was all bullcrap.

Had another family member that works at hospitals. Witnessed many deaths and had the hospital so full, patients were sleeping on gurneys out in the hall ways. She thinks it was all BS for the most part.

If you deny it when it's right in your face, I don't know if you will ever be convinced.

My mother got it and took months to get over it. Two months in she was unresponsive in the morning. Rushed her to the hospital by ambulance. She was pushing 80 and they had her back home in two hours. Think that's normal? Had no room for her.

Deniers will laugh at it? Have you considered why there will be deniers and why they will not trust what they are being told? Maybe it has to do with all the lies they were fed the last time. The politicians did this to us. Don’t blame the denier , blame the liars.

We didn’t shut down? Maybe where you live but tell that to more than 60 million people who lost their jobs or had their hours reduced.
How about more than 200,000 businesses who went bankrupt.
You’re a teacher who was able to work online from home but waitresses didn’t have that luxury. Their paycheck was just gone.

I will spare you from pointing out the obvious damage to our children from not being allowed to attend school. I am sure you are well aware of that along with the spike in suicides in that age group.

The reason those things happened is because you lost control of it. Why did that happen? Waitresses didn't lose their job over here because it didn't spread like wildfire. We actually had a breakout in a city before you all did and the govt. was on it immediately. Through contact tracing they put the fire out and it never got out of control. There were people in the US denying if it was even real in April. I saw it. People I knew on Facebook saying "I don't know anyone that's got it." You never cared. Just some old people dying you wouldn't miss anyway.

Not sure where you live but in blue states we know businesses were shut down by force, it wasn’t because of covid infections. That is where the majority of bankruptcies happened.

There was not any increase in covid deaths in the open states vs the closed states. We have data that shutting down states did more harm than good.
When you only look at data from one area that was closed and then proclaimed you saved people it’s just politicians claiming victory for something they didn’t really have any effect on. There is no control group to compare it too so it’s not science it’s politics.

@kckd - People here are not going to change their minds about ivermectin anymore than other things. As has been discussed, there were no good valid studies saying ivermectin was useful during the time some were promoting it. I responded to someone who posted what were supposed to be support for the effectiveness of ivermectin. I copied one of their links and asked if they had read the abstract (no response as usual), but it said there was no proof of the effectiveness, but more studies should be done.

This morning you replied to a post that said there was "more evidence" and then said it was anecdotal. That's not evidence. And I doubt these people could prove ivermectin had the effect. I've never taken ivermectin but have had all the COVID shots and boosters and have never had COVID. I think it was the smart thing to do (and the advice of my physician), but it doesn't prove anything.

They also said it wasn't dangerous. Every drug, etc. can be dangerous, but you have to weigh the positives and negatives. People have died from taking aspirin, but it's still a great drug and I have taken it for a long time to prevent heart problems. The evidence for the benefit of ivermectin is not strong at this time. But maybe they never saw this:
