BATON ROUGE - A Senate bill aimed at restricting the age of employees at strip clubs that serve alcohol included a proposed amendment that aimed to limit the weight of strippers as well.
Amendment No. 1 to Senate Bill 468 moved to append the following after an earlier occurrence words “shall be” in the bill:
"between twenty-one and twenty-eight years of age and shall be no more than one hundred sixty pounds in weight.”
The bill received final passage from the House in the 2016 legislative session on Wednesday after the amendment was withdrawn.
According to online legislative documents, the amendment was proposed by Rep. Kenneth E. Havard (R). He represents East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, and West Feliciana parishes.
