OK so I know there's mixed feelings on here about Kuch. Some say he's a nice guy and can ignore that fact that he's a nerd, others just see the nerd and don't like him. I personally think he's generally a good dude but refuse to root for him out of principle.
But this story seems like a bad look for him, no? Even if he's technically right on principle, sometimes you have to throw that out and do even more because the perception is worse. I get that he had an agreement with the caddie ahead of time, but the perception of $5,000 after a win when your payout was $1.5 Mil seems pretty bad. Standing by the "we had an agreement" just makes him look bad, imo.
