i am 45 years old. Grew up a huge UNC fan (both parents went there). Going to the ACC tournament in the 90s was a bigger deal than the Super Bowl. Came to UGA in 98 and for better or worse (mostly) have been a huge Dawgs BBAll fan ever since.
Anyway, this new world of basketball is close to losing me. With NIL, it is worse than football. Most teams are changing over 80%-90%. The appeal of college over pro was the assumption that the players like you, cared a little for the name on the front of the jersey. It appears it is not the case and it is only about the money. That is their right. But.....if it is only about the money, why not just use my passion and money for guys that are better at playing said sport. And actually stay for a few years.
Yes, I am a big Hawks fan (more pain), but if all leagues are only about money, I will show interest in the one that has players not changing every single year and are at the top of their game.
I hope they get this figured out and quickly, but if guys like Baker Mazara have no loyalty to a school (only 1 school defended that punk), then it might be lost.
All that said, nothing but respect and love for Blue, Cyril, and James. Hope they are the exception and become the cornerstone of a team that started together and accomplishes great things.
