Kirby basically helped the referees officiate the game. He consistently does it and gets away with it because UGA is one of the SEC golden programs, whereas UF is almost always on the wrong side of SEC officiating because they see us as the outsider, “non-southern” school.
The spot was iffy when it was initially given but there was no conclusive evidenxe to overturn it. If we were given a first down, we probably get a few more yards and worst case, punt it away. That call and our failure to convert on 4th down and UGA scoring right after completely changed the game.
