I couldn’t care less that he’s committed to Colorado. I think Colorado is the third school to which he’s been committed. I’m not sure it makes sense from a competitive standpoint to go to college a year early… the whole landscape seems to be dominated by older players who have been in college 3-4 years already…. Unless it’s just a cash grab (which it is) I don’t understand why anyone would think it’s a good idea to get into that world at 17 years old.
He gave an interview to the Georgia High School Daily this week, wherein he said that he wondered if he would even have fun playing a fourth year of high school football. He also said that his dad was the final decision maker.
We’ll see if he actually signs with Colorado… or if he actually plays there for more than one year.
I know he didn’t create the existing structure, but I really do dislike what it’s turned into - and it’s manifested in kids like Julian Lewis. Does that guy even live in Carrollton? Is Joey King even coaching there is Lewis isn’t playing there?
It all just feels silly after awhile.
