Outsider note on Gwinnett Co recruiting

I don’t know what the issue is at Buford, etc., but it does look odd. Some thoughts based on what I observe here and from other places and people I’ve talked with.

Schools will offer enticements to a lot of people to recruit a player they want, including coaches. I know of a specific situation where that happened with a current UGA player and another school that was recruiting him. This particular coach didn’t bite.

You don’t get rich coaching HS ball, even in Georgia where it’s a big deal.

A lot of kids have coaches or “mentors” (in some cases handlers) guiding them in the process. It appears (see the coach talking up Auburn during Bolden’s visit) that some of them enjoy the process as much as the players. Makes me wonder what’s in it for them.

I get the impression that Kirby has no tolerance for handlers and not much more for coaches who have their hands out.
