Just got back from a restaurant/bar in Charlotte. I ate at the bar. Bartender was a recent D2 QB, nice guy and Clemmer fan who grew up playing in Charlotte.
We talked football the whole time. He had mad respect for UGA defense and run game. Talked about how any QB/WR would be stupid to go to UGA. I argued and he agreed that our QB play/development is good for NFL but it wouldn't work without the WR's. He would talk as a QB about needing the WR and any QB would jump to go to Bama or OSU and pointed out Clemson QB's were because of the WR (Watkings, et al). I baffled him pointing out that UGA threw the ball as much as any team in the SEC and that was without any 5* WR.
Quick summary: the outside perception is UGA just runs the ball. We have "good" QBs but the wrong "O" to get WR. My question is what would happen if we had the OSU/Bama WRs? Given everything else we typically have, would'nt we be the explosive team everyone is looking for? Not bashing Bobo/OC because when Bobo's Os have a solid gun game, he puts points and stats on the board. The delima is how do we be multiple and convince the WR/QBs that we need (the best) to come here? I know this isn't is a yes/no question but I feel this is the pergutory that we are in and I'm wondering how we break out?
