The road win at Ole Miss is not nearly as sweet when you turn around and give it right back when they come to play here. This one is extremely frustrating. Frustrating we aren’t guarding anyone, frustrating that Roberts isn’t out there, and frustrating that we didn’t play smart on offense down the stretch.

1st Half:
Kario and Bridges just found their absolute groove. Bridges with 14 and Kario with 12. They were focused, determined, and lethal. Amazing to see. Unfortunately, we didn’t guard Ole Miss’s Brakefield at all and he shot 6 for 7 for 14 points himself. He was abusing all of our defenders.

2nd Half:
We picked right up where we left off. Kario and Bridges. We didn’t really need to go to anyone else because those two were dominant and we were riding them like we should. Then the drought happened. The frustrating thing about the 6:23 without a field goal is how it happened. We had a stretch at the 7:00 mark where we went:
1. Kario missed 3
2. Kario missed layup
3. Kario missed 3
4. Jabri turnover
5. Justin Hill missed front end of 1 and 1
6. McBride missed 3
We are absolutely killing them inside and we start jacking 3’s. McBride, I can understand, although it wasn’t a good look. But Kario?!?!? Kario, my man, you finished 6 for 9 inside the arc on 2 pointers tonight. You were KILLING them. But dude, 1 for 5 from three. Again.
It’s been 51 games for Kario at UGA. Last year he shot 27% from 3. This year he is at 28%. That’s enough data. It’s not good. He doesn’t need to be shooting so many from deep.

Final Thoughts: Bridges finished with 26 points and 11 boards and only ONE turnover. His game was magnificent. Kario finished with 19 points and 5 boards. Great game, but he didn’t have the killer instinct. He could have kept killing them inside but chose to launch from deep and he is shooting without a scope. Jabri with three turnovers total, but two were absolutely killer. Holt wasn’t guarding anyone. No one but Hill and Moncrieffe seemed to be guarding anyone. Mike White says he has never had a team struggle like this on defense. I fully expect him to fix it in the portal. Getting Roberts back soon would be amazing. Still proud of what our guys have done this season. Let’s keep fighting. Go Dawgs!
