Honestly believe Trump is looking forward to a trial in the Senate. He Will be able to call witnesses and the Dems wont be able to run interference for them. It could blow the lid off the corruption of the DC swamp.

Nope. Dems and witnesses at senate hearings will simply employ the Patches O'Hollihan rule:
Dems have two goals: Tarnish POTUS while making GOP support him, and keep POTUS on the defensive for swamp damage control. Frankly, they will achieve both goals. There is no way around it at this point. Meanwhile, the secret army of swamp drainers that many of us were fooled into believing existed is as big a nothing burger as the Mueller Report. The swamp has already won, the Republic is doomed, and POTUS is going to go down. Way too many believe that the average American see through the charade. That delusion must be worse than whatever afflicts South Carolina fans (good analogy, bad year).
