He's already been confirmed by the Senate, is younger than Justice Ginsburg, and would make it very difficult for Republicans to "stand in front of the schoolhouse door".

Republicans have gone full retard this election, and if they attempt to filibuster this Court vacancy, they will certainly lose the White House and Senate.

You sound scared?? Are you afraid of the Repubs playing dirty Democratic hardball politics? I bet you didn't complain when dirty Harry Reid invoked the nuclear option in the Senate to get the ACA passed.

I hope the Republicans stall. I would like to see the President nominate a candidate the Senate previously approved, just to show the American people that the Republicans are cowards.

I hope he nominates someone, that the Senate gives them full consideration and then vote "no". Let the process play out until he is either out of office or nominates someone that both sides can confirm.

He's going to pick a left wing nut . The senate will vote no. They hold there seats. Trump will put a right wing guy in. Find dirt on John Roberts and sacre him. That way he can pass his immigration laws.

Except he didn't with ACA.

It was in 2013 when McConnell agreed to quit all the filibusters on judicial appointments. Then went back on his word. Reid pulled the trigger. But at the time, some had been sitting there waiting for hearings and confirmations for more than 5 yrs. due to filibusters.

I would like to see him nominate Lynch. They could nail her on the IRS scandal she saw no reason to investigate and why she hasn't initiated an investigation of the Clinton Foundation in light of the many quid pro quos that have been al
leged.

Since we're all guessing, my take is that Obama and friends will nominate a sacrificial lamb or distraction (as you please) just to stir the media and get more face time for everyone inside the beltway making above minimum wage to comment on how great he/she is or how horrible she/he will be. Then, the real favorite will be trotted out for approval and everyone as above will get their shot at camera time to spew their scripted promotional fluff or their scripted end times rant. Chances are quite good that 80% of those interviews or sound bites will be clear evidence of the bizaree polarization driving our nation's government and how totally self serving 95% of them really are. Here's hoping they all get abducted by aliens with no chance of returning.
