I am strongly considering changing insurance agents and insurance companies for our home and auto coverage after years of being with the same one. No complaints about the level of service I have received, at all, but the premiums have gotten crazy and I know I can save a considerable about of money by changing. To get comparative quotes, I plan to send a copy of my declaration pages showing my existing coverage limits which I wish to replicate. Of course, I will check the financial stability of the companies being quoted. I know, though, that the devil is in the details with the policies that will be quoted. I will need to consider things like variations in exclusions, etc.

What advice would the insurance pros here have to ensure that I make a wise and fair evaluation among the quotes that I will receive?

Much obliged!
