I think they would be deathly afraid for him to be interrogated on capital hill by Jordan, Gaetz,etc. They would want to know who actually wrote the thing because it is in the form of a legal brief. He is not a lawyer. Also bring out the political bias of the complaintant and that he worked with a group of lawyers that pay officials to leak against Trump.
One other thing. the whistleblower himself acknowledged that at the time of the call, Ukraine officials did not know anything about foreign aid being held up. So there goes the quid pro quo.
Finally, if a president becomes aware of corruption by an American who is running for pres, it is his duty to pursue it. Just like Obama did with Trump except in that case there really wasn't any corruption they could find. But they spent $40MM spying on DT campaign. This will be addressed soon by the IG and Durham special prosecutor.

Foreign governments can investigate any U.S. citizen they want if they believe crimes were committed in or against their country.
