Went to Macon yesterday and took the Rock Candy walking tour of downtown music history last night and the driving tour of the larger area today. Our host was Ruth Sykes. She was incredibly knowledgeable and knew many of the past and present stars personally. We met Otis Redding's son. I learned about the history of Little Richard, Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, The Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker, Lynard Skynard, Molly Hatchet, etcetera. We also learned about Capricorn founder Phil Walden and his brother. We toured The Big House, and Rose Lawn Cemetery and ate at the H&H restaurant. If you are a music fan, I highly recommend this experience.
