Most college football teams run RPO's and they typically have a QB that presents "some" level of a threat to run. This pulls db's up and causes them to hesitate, which can open up the passing game. Before the season, we seemed to have predetermined that Beck would remain in bubble wrap to protect him against an injury that would affect his first round draft status. At this point he'll be lucky to be drafted and is nowhere near being a first rounder. Beck is not a terrible athlete, and is capable of getting some yards when defenses don't respect his ability to pull the ball and run it. To do this he will need to cut back on the sliding and maybe take a hit or two. He and UGA have nothing to lose. If he gets hurt, Stockton may be the better option anyway, and frankly may change this lethargic offense for the better. From Beck's perspective it may help NFL teams respect his toughness a little more, because right now the general perception is that he is a wuss both mentally and physically. Maybe this can shake up something on an offense that is clearly is not working. Otherwise, take the RPO's out of the offense because nobody thinks Beck is going to keep it and it is simply a wasted motion.
