Saban agrees staying at Bama through the playoffs is not good for Kirby's future..

There truly are things happening in the background Helen, maybe things like making a choice of coaches and not promoting or hiring one that Kirby would like and hiring someone who Kirby would as soon leave instead. Maybe. KS wants a young staff of defensive coaches so he can put his stamp on the defense and NS is helping him and helping himself. And KS is helping NS. What if the nasty ole 64 Y.O. coach had 3 guys of his he could help and himself. He could hire one the new head coach didn't want but he did and not promote one that the new coach wants and get both still preparing his team and ease the mind of all 3 guys. Plus keep one from going to (?auburn?) to save GUS.

Wonderful thing about America is we can still express our feelings freely (today, although some on the far fringe left and the nation's AG think the first amendment is just a misguided suggestion). And you don't hold back expressing your's....goood! But you also have the right to be wrong and you are dead wrong here. So sit down, set back and let Jessie rob this train. It'll all be over shortly and we'll be on our way, the wiser and better off for it. Kirby is doing these things for a reason or reasons and ADM knows. First off, Kirby made it plain up front and that made him even more desirable. This thing did not just jump up in a vacuum. The talks have been ongoing. CMR tried to play his cards when he raced off to Wash to appear to have the whiz kid QB in his pocket but the folks at UGA and the new coach countered. And everybody is going to wind up ok here. In the past do you think (A) UGA would have wound up with the nation's best player, a program saving QB without the head coach who recruited him on the job and horrors, a defensive minded coach who is still working at another school as his head coach. (B) And Dawgs get who the coach really wants to fill out the best or co-best defensive staff, recruiting and coaching wise in America..........All is well.

Predictions: The national title comes back to Athens within 5 years (probably sooner) and the east much sooner and far more regularly. Recruiting, discipline are significantly better and graduation increases slightly. Nick Saban leaves coaching within 3 years (or less), takes the AD job and JP is the next head coach there. Ought to be some entertainment with Will @ USC, Kirby in Athens and Jimmy down in Gainesville. And JP stirring the pot. CBS will like the ratings.

That's too long winded a prognostication, so I didn't read much of it..
The fact is Kirby let it slip he was game planning for Bama while in Athens, Bama has Our DC recruiting and game planning and Our HC coaching while We use GAs,
We got played by Saban, hopefully for the last time.

Absolutely not about being CMR loyalist. Was not directed at anyone specifically. What I meant was, some of the threads start out new, then become missing CMR and Pruitt, over and over and over.

They're gone. Time for Kirby! I wish he was here too, however, I understand and think in the long run, it will be to our benefit. As bad as it will be in Jax with tv and how few coaches we have, it will be the opposite, imo, during NC game. Should be impressive to recruits who have almost a month to make their final decision after that game. Week before last, it sounded like we were about to lose Eason. Kirby and the new coaches managed to seal the deal in a few days.

I suppose Kolton Houston pretty much summed it up in how much they love and respect the coaches who stayed with them through the bowl. As he said, it shows "how much they care about the players." Kirby did the same thing.

I think the idea Bama winning a title will help Us recruit is a result of Saban blowing smoke, it's amazing how quickly it went from His mouth to this board.
We are in direct competition with Bama for Derrick Brown, Ben Davis, Demetris Robertson and several other big time recruits. Does common sense tell You Bama winning another title will cast US in a better light than them ?

We're going to win some and lose some in recruiting. Every school does every year. Would be the same if the former staff were here or if the current HC were here. And yes, I think national pr, Kirby being younger and good recruiter and all the rumors of Saban retiring, including by Finebaum and other sports outlets, kids may want to stick with Kirby and GA. But again, all schools win/lose recruits each year.

Why are people beating up Kirby when they have no clue what is going on? You have no idea what he has in the works and what he knows. Don't cry and whine until there is something to be mad about. Some of you need a hobby.

We know the obvious, He is in Tuscaloosa working for Saban, so is Pruitt, Kirby was game planning for Saban while in Athens and He didn't contact Derrick Brown till late that week, but Pruitt was all over Him for Saban.

It just seems funny that people actually think that saban is in control of everything that goes on with Georgia. Kirby didn't make any bones about what he was going to do. He said he was going to finish what he started. He would be at Georgia for a week or so then back to ALABAMA until the playoffs were over.he has still in that short amount of time had a bigger impact on recruiting than would have been if the original staff had been here. Don't see the need for panic .

If I'd just fallen off a hay truck and didn't know anything about Saban, the combination of Kirby's ''mentors'' convincing him to stay with Bama while His chief mentor is somehow fine with OUR DC leaving His team and working for that mentor..would make Me a bit suspicious of said mentor's motives.
Having paid attention to Saban's methods all these years, it's inconceivable He isn't manipulating this to His advantage, He manipulates EVERY situation to His advantage, it's His defining characteristic.

Kirby knows that he is about to start giving account for Kirby. I believe he is well aware of what's going on. I don't think Nick has a spell on him and he has no idea what is going on around him. I think Nick takes lemon's and makes lemonade. Yes I think he is controlling, but Kirby has to make his living at Georgia in 2016 and I think he is aware .

Plus while still employed at BAMA, Kirby was flying to Washington, on the phone and making visits to recruits, found some offensive coaches and spent time with a lot of recruits on official visits here. While on Bama's payroll. The former DC bailed on our current players.

I'm with you, nothing to worry about.

No doubt Kirby will make the break from Saban, but some damage is being done, I'm sure of it.
Saban has said He never gave any consideration AT ALL to hiring anybody other than Pruitt to replace Kirby. So Saban is clearly Kirby's top mentor..hands down. What do You suppose He advised KS to do, retain Pruitt ? If He'd told Kirby he would be foolish to fire Pruitt, Pruitt would still be Our DC, no question in My mind about that. Isn't it interesting how all of these decisions benefit Saban, who happens to be the most cunningly manipulative man in CFB ? Don't be naïve.

You give Nick more credit than he deserves. Lol

I don't think so. I've never known anybody, other than maybe Meyer, who is constantly weighing everything he says or does. Saban doesn't really have conversations like other people, at least not when work is involved. Other coaches look at rules and try to see how they affect their programs, Saban looks at them and figures out how He can manipulate and skirt them to benefit His program. That is why rules have been made and changed so many times to counter the man's schemes.

Never thought of him as AD. We'll see what happens. Might be right. Think it would be awesome if he left this year after NC game or signing day.

If I had a 12 million "spec" house in the mtns, I wouldn't want to move either. Not far anyway. But definitely out of Alabama.
He has built a gorgeous place on Lake Tuscaloosa which is one of the most picturesque spots in the south. Foothills of the Appalachians with the Black Warrior running through it. Company I retired from had a hill side mansion there, used it for get company get together. Plus there are a lot of old football people, both college and NFL who live there and congregate. And his kids live close. Now the guy could run off to Tibet and become a recluse next week. I just think he has driven himself hard and is ready to enjoy life. One other thing his dream according to an article was to be a new car dealer since he grew up running his father's service station. He now has a Mercedes Benz dealership in Mountain Brook, Al and another under construction. And the Benz factory folks outside of Tuscaloosa are huge Bammers and kiss his butt. I don't see him completely retiring and the AD is about to retire. And the school will likely pay him what ever of his current salary same as they would have Bryant. Just a guess.

I have a Brother who lives on Lake Tuscaloosa, He is from there, so am I, so are My Parents and all 4 Grandparents. It can't hold a candle to the North Georgia Mountains though, or The Athens area for that matter.

He sold the investment house on Lake Burton in The Ga hills a couple of years ago for 10.5 million.
As far as I know He still owns a vacation house there.

at UGA. Somebody even used the word ''crippling'', I'm not sure if that was a direct quote from Saban though.
The Midget also said he never considered anybody other than Pruitt to replace Kirby, he called it ''a no brainer''. So Saban has our old DC game planning and recruiting while Our new HC prepares his defense while We're losing ground every day becaused We don't have a HC working for Us. It's sad.. We are willing dupes for Saban.
Also Kirby let it slip the other day that He game planned for Bama while at UGA. He said it was only while on planes, in His hotel and at other down times. This might explain why He failed to contact Derrick Brown for over a week. You know who did contact Brown right away ? Pruitt, as soon as He took the Bama job.

I didn't see that in his quote. I only saw the reporters comment saying that.

Are we making this stuff up as we go?

Are We not reading carefully ? Assuming You're referring to the word ''crippling'', the rest did come from Saban. I questioned if that word was a quote from Saban in the very next sentence.

I'll say this, he likes real estate. He's got 2 up in Rabun county. The non "spec" is even grander.

The only property I've found listed under Saban in The Tuscaloosa area is owned by a Tide boosters' club.

You can gotdang believe Tom Herman would be busting his azz in Athens GA right now if we had chosen him. I am so pizzed at KS for this BS my blood boils. He is an idiot. ADGM as well.

Talking about Rabun cty, ga

I understand that. I was referring to those who say he's built a mansion on Lake Tuscaloosa. The only property associated with Coach Saban in The Tuscaloosa area I've been able to find mention of is stated to be owned by a group of Tide backers. It's a monstrosity fit for his ego.

He get's the title if he stays there a few more years. A retention bonus. Not the first guy to get that. You are trying way too hard Helen. Life really is not too bad if you work hard, study hard, treat other ok and come to terms with yourself at some point. At this point your negative nature is a kinda defining you. I mean damn. You've got some real hate going on and swinging in all directions.

OMG, you are a drama queen!

I am thrilled to have Kirby.I respect his decision to finish his job with Bama. I don't see the big negative for us.
