This looks like a mess. Many who were following the Bulldogs a half-century ago will tell you that the Tech game in 1974 no doubt had the nastiest weather Georgia has played in at home in recent memory…

A driving rain and 15 mph wind prompted Vince Dooley to recognize the 1974 regular-season finale as the “worst weather he ever had a team play in.” Throw in temperatures in the low 40s, turning the rain into more like sleet at times, and Tech head coach Pepper Rodgers added the game was “cold as hell.”

Personally, the most extreme weather game at Sanford Stadium I’ve experienced is probably 1983 vs. UCLA. It isn’t often you see rain like that. Of course, 2009 vs. Arizona State was rather rainy, as well. There was also the 2000 Ole Miss game, which was raining when temperatures dipped into the mid-30s. I also remember a couple of season openers which were miserably hot and humid.

What do y’all recall? Whether because of the extreme rain, cold, wind, fog, heat, etc., what are some extreme weather games you’ve experienced at Sanford Stadium?
