Shandon Anderson SF Georgia UT, HOU, NYK, MIA 1996-2006 12-31-1973 49 YOA

UGA

“Anderson began his Georgia career in the fall of 1992 as part of the Bulldogs’ highly-touted freshman class under head coach Hugh Durham. He left Athens four years later, twice decorated with All-SEC honors, and no longer just the younger brother of ex-Georgia great Willie Anderson.

He survived a coaching change before his senior season, and under new mentor Tubby Smith, Anderson enjoyed his most productive year at Georgia. Best of all, however, his last team finally made good on its considerable promise. That year, the Bulldogs went 21-10 and turned the NCAA Tournament West Regional on its ear by reaching the Sweet 16.

Anderson left Georgia as its No. 7 career scorer and its only player ever to score 1,500 points, pull down 500 rebounds and hand out 300 assists. Three months later the Utah Jazz made him their second-round pick in the 1996 NBA Draft.

The native Atlantan built a professional career that spanned 10 seasons and four different teams: in order, Utah, Houston, New York and lastly, Miami. After becoming the first UGA alumnus to reach the NBA Finals with Utah in 1998, he savored a championship with Miami in 2006…In 2007, Anderson made notoriety for another noble cause. He returned to UGA, 11 years after he last attended class, and completed his undergraduate degree in Sociology.

Tracy Henderson C Georgia CLE 1999-2002 12-31-1974 48 YOA

UGA

“Playing from 1994-97 Henderson stood as a standout player and huge attribute to the Georgia Lady Bulldogs during her four years in college.

Henderson led Georgia in blocked shots from 1994-97. She was named first-team All-SEC for three consecutive years in 1995, 1996, and 1997. Henderson was also a two-time honorable mention All-American.

As a Lady Bulldog, Henderson averaged 14.5 points and 6.7 rebounds during her four-year career and led the Lady Bulldogs to the NCAA Final Four in two consecutive years. Henderson and her teammates also captured Southeastern Conference Championships in her final two seasons in Athens…

“My decision to come to UGA was my biggest accomplishment because it set the standard for the rest of my basketball career," she said. "I came into Georgia not knowing much about basketball but I just had an all-natural athletic ability. Playing for Coach Landers and learning to understand the game and being able to push myself and play really hard is what I think was my biggest accomplishment. It wasn’t just playing basketball but being an athlete.”

Following the ABL, Henderson joined the WNBA as a Cleveland Rocker in 1999. She was in the WNBA for three years, however, she only competed in 1999. Henderson missed the entire 2000 season due to pregnancy and the entire 2001 season due to knee rehabilitation.”
