Yet another terribly managed game by CSS. Anyone watching the game, whether at Hoover or on a screen, could tell that Schunk did not have the stuff he normally has today. Arm looked slow and tired. He found a way through two innings, but once that first batter reached there is no excuse to leave him in. 2 of the next 4 hitters were lefty with another being a switch hitter (flip him around). Goodman has been very effective this year when given the chance but unfortunately that’s not very often. Schunk and the rest of the pitching staff battled their tails off. Stricklin cannot look at this team and say he gave them the best chance to win this game. The team will be ready for NCAAs but the boys aren’t who we should be worried about.
