May be getting ahead of myself here but I'm excited thinking up hypothetical tournament matchups for the first time in forever!
Had a thought, Would it almost be more beneficial for us to be a 10 or 11 seed versus an 8 or 9?
Per the NCAA Seeding rules: "Teams from the same conference shall not meet prior to the Sweet 16 if they played each other twice during the regular season and conference tournament.
Florida Bama and Auburn are all in contention for one seeds and we wouldn't be able to play them in the second round as an 8/9 seed. So that would almost guarantee us a second round matchup against Duke or Houston which would be less than ideal IMO.
*Edit - I was thinking we played Bama twice initially. We could potentially still get them
