Yesterday sucked - full stop. However, I don't think the sky is falling and we're going to see an Auburn style plummet from the mountaintop. For all of our arm-chair observations, you can't think Kirby doesn't see it too. He has greater knowledge of the inner workings, but also knows that the games are when it counts. I am optimistically hopeful that Kirby will do what is necessary to right the ship.
Here's my list of what I hope he does - feel free to disagree or add:
1) Have to get meaner and more imposing on the OL. Got absolutely whipped last night and several times this season. I think it starts with a new approach with a new OL coach. Not like Georgia doesn't have monsters. They have to play better.
2) Tagging on to item #1, have to get more explosive in the running game. I think a change in approach at OL will help, but saw too many 2nd and 8's this year.
3) Change in OC. I appreciate everything Bobo has done, and I realize execution is a lot of it, but it felt like he was slamming his head into a wall a lot this year by not adapting to what the team does well instead of forcing a team that isn't executing his game plan to basically run it like practice. Also, we have to stop these quick WR screens.
4) On defense need some DUDES in the secondary. Can't rely on 1 or 2 stars to cover up for what is frankly laziness by some others. You're only as strong as your weakest link.
5) Kirby needs to get his edge back. I think he probably backed off this year knowing their limitations, but that also resulted in the team not having near the fire we have seen in year's past.
Go Dawgs, always.
