Richt era:
2001- basically same season as Kirby in 2016
2002 - SEC champs, but can’t win it all. A great season highly enjoyed and remembered by fans, but marred by a terrible lose that shouldn’t have been (same outcome as Kirby in 2017).
2003 - loss in Atlanta to Saban (same outcome as Kirby in 2018).
2004 - underachieve with great team
First three years have been same as Richt’s first three. If we lose to Bama again, and don’t make playoff, will we repeat the 2000s decade? Will THIS be the year we finally blow the lid off the program? Looking at the first and second team SEC preseason lists, Bama has real playmakers at WR that we don’t. We lost out top five receivers!!!
This could literally be our best team ever — who knows — and we still won’t have a championship to show for it if we can’t take care of the SEC West.
