Some AP poll data I found surprising if not shocking. It might be harder than we think to keep a team relevant every year....

And by relevant, I mean ranked in the top 25 poll.
-The only teams in the SEC to finish ranked in the AP top 25 poll in both 2021 and 2022 are UGA and Alabama. This stays the same even if you include Texas and Oklahoma.

-Another one that's kind of shocking in how unique it is. Alabama has the longest streak of being ranked number one in consecutive years at some point in the season in the AP poll. It's 15 and it's current. The next closest streak is Miami at 7 from 1986-1992. We have the second longest active streak at 2. This will be the worst spot Alabama has been in to continue the streak since they started it.

-If Georgia is number one in any AP poll this year (which seems to be a foregone conclusion at this point) they will have done so in three consecutive seasons. This would tie them for the ninth longest streak in AP poll history.
Here's the chart for consecutive seasons spending at least one week at number 1. Asterisk means active. There are several teams tied with Georgia at 2.
