This isn’t about football, but it’s about G Day and this weekend in Athens.
Sorry to be an old man yelling at a cloud, but it was kind of sad today? The upper deck was closed. Announced attendance was 35,000 which felt right.
But Athens was kind of dead this week. We went to Creature Comforts on Thursday and it was empty. Went out to dinner last night to one of the more popular places in town and it was half full. No real buzz downtown this morning or in the stadium.
This was probably the last G Day if I had to bet, and it’s just kind of sad what this weekend was. I don’t know what I expected, but I guess I expected more. I suppose the only constant is change.
