I know we’re still dealing with Helene this morning. Thankfully for the Chatt Valley (where I live) we dodged a bullet. Thursday it produced a more eastern shift. Wed., it was barreling right up the Chatt River which would have had really bad impacts for the Columbus/Phenix City area.
Anyways, there is a disturbance right now in the western Caribbean. I’ve seen some future models and it might produce a hurricane and has it coming to the Panhandle. Have no idea intensity but just bringing it to attention because it could produce some wetness in Athens for the Auburn game. Again, forecasting tropical development 10 days out is almost pointless but it’s worth keeping an eye on for weather/rain in Athens. Hopefully it turns into a nothing burger or veers westward in the Gulf and not north but just don’t know.
Just wanted to bring it to attention.
Go Dawgs and beat Bama.
