Sure, UMass is next. But the Tech game is lining up to be interesting.

The Yella Jackets take on 5-5 NC State this Thursday night in ATL as -9 favorites (O/U 52.5). That gives them an extra two days rest prior to the UGA game where we, by virtue of the game moving to Friday, have one less day to prep. The Jackets (6-4) will enter the UGA game looking to play spoiler.

Assuming Tech can beat NC State, they will sit at 7-4 on the heels of a 2023 regular season finish of 7-5. 8-4 shows progress and is something Coach Key can sell. Another 7-5 and Georgia Tech is still just the same old Georgia Tech. This is their season. This is their future. The 2024 Tech team will be known for nothing unless it beats Georgia. Period.

Hopefully, we're sitting starters by halftime of the UMass game, avoiding injuries and targeting calls, and can begin working on Tech Sunday morning.

The Tech game is likely to be important in how high we rank out for the playoffs. We don't need a nailbiter and can, hopefully, play loose given our likely avoidance of the SEC championship.
