Offensive lineman Cade Mays

The former five-star prospect and Georgia transfer is already a popular first-round pick on several early 2022 mock drafts, and as far as Tennessee's draft hopefuls for next year he's at the top of the list. The Vols will need the 6-foot-6, 325-pound Mays to perform like their best offensive lineman this fall for him to solidify his status going into next year's draft. Mays's power and size will be attractive to NFL teams, as will his versatility. He started games at four different positions in his two seasons at Georgia and played right guard and right tackle in his first season at Tennessee in 2020.

The positional versatility will be valuable for Mays at the next level because NFL teams can only have so many offensive linemen active on Sundays. Mays said last month his best position is at right guard, and that's where Tennessee's new staff probably would prefer to play him, but he is growing in comfort at tackle and the Vols might need him there. Though he's best-suited inside, playing outside also could enhance his NFL chances.
