Last week was a joy, eh? Just pitiful all the way around. Playoff hopes on life support and number 7 coming to town. Good news? It's utk and Huepel is leading them, home game, night game, embarrassing L the week before. If you're a realistic utk fan you realize that bodes poorly, problem is those are few and far between.

With Nico: Nico may be the most talented overall QB in CFB. Problem is he took a giant NIL deal and hitched his wagon to Josh freaking Huepel and that mickey mouse Paul Johnson/Art Brile love child poor excuse for a scheme. With him, he's the most athletic QB we've played outside Milroe, more so than Dart. He also possesses the most arm talent to hurt us out of anyone we've played. Problem is, Huepel hasn't adjusted anything in 4 years. The scheme in 2021 is the scheme now. They just want to out goon you and hit easy shots.

Without Nico: Same offense, less upside to hit shots or QB run. It's painfully simple. Stone Sampson, force them to throw without PA, ceiling points wise is around 17 and that's very generous. They're not good on offense, they run, run, run, keep running. Max protect and throw 2 route combos deep, slant/wheel. All go's, rinse and repeat. They play fast because they run a HS offense and it's the same things over and over.

So long as Schu doesn't get cute and forces them to beat us vs us lining up and beating ourselves confused as shit. We will eviscerate that offense. If he jumps the shark like last week or bama and puts our guys in position to fail. Has Mykell playing smash blocking for ILB blitzes while Jalon chases slot receivers, we get smoked. We had no choice but hemorrhage points with that hot dog shit gameplan last week. Just gift wrapped them 20 of the points. You defeat the purpose of recruiting all the 5* monsters when you're too scared to just line them up and let them kick ass. That was Muschamp's superpower and where Schu and the D staff has failed this group and the team overall. It's about players, not scheme and we've jumped the shark.

Offensively we HAVE to get Pearce blocked. They have a good DL and they rotate a lot. Can't just run them side to side to tire them out because they do have depth. Defensively they're much like their offense, they are simple and play fast. We have to establish some type of run game or quick throws that keep us out of third and death. Get in a bunch of third and longs, going to have to rely on the D for some easy points. Stay ahead of the sticks, we will slowly wilt them. Starting fast is ideal, the faster we get them into must throw mode the easier it gets. Once that happens it's checkmate. The offense can't kill the D this week with stupid TO's and not staying on the field.

Our D is SALTY is defending the run between the tackles. Huepel doesn't run a lot of things to the edges because it throws off spacing and timing for the RPO's. Bad matchup for utk overall, their DL is a bad matchup for our OL. I believe our O vs their D is a more fair fight though.

Dawgs win 24-10
