The bipartisan border bill would have still allowed 8 million illegal crossings per year.

I did not know Trump was in office and had a vote? LOL..Shi++y bill anyway..the dumba$$ Dems should not have allowed 10 illegal aliensinto the country by all of Bidens Executive Orders when he took office first week..then try and play politics to save their ass on the problem they caused LOL…Part of their political game failed by not the shi++y bill passed. However they did succeed in causing the largest incomparable mass migration (record numbers) of illegal aliens into this country ..and all the problems that come with Conservatives and Independents alike (and any other sane person) knows this
Have you read the bill?

That's they problem, it wasn't 50% anything. It was 100% garbage and that was so they could campaign on it. The money in that bill would have gone to giving benefits to illegal aliens and shipping them around the country. They said that is would add border patrol but the border patrol said they didn't need more officers, they need to be allowed to control the border. The extra "border patrol" would have been used to help do paperwork to expedite bringing in more illegals.
sources?

Both parties have decided 100 percent of nothing is better than 50 percent of something. Nobody benefits.
No, both sides have decided they have a really sweet deal and don't want to piss off their benefactors. In the case of immigration, the Pubs are perfectly happy with failing to enforce existing laws as long as the CoC can get their members cheap labor. The Dems love the idea of new voters that feel beholding to them. They both put on their Kabuki shows for the masses and pass the hat amongst their donors. Controlling the border isn't very hard and the solutions are simple common sense stuff but nobody wants to blame their tribe.

I have seen videos of Trump saying "blame me for defeating the bill."

Does anyone really think it was a good bill? They blame Trump for killing it but thank goodness someone had some common sense and decided to let it die.
it was a good bill for illegal aliens. Made it easier to get here and better accommodations upon arrival.

I think if the border is a fraction of the crisis Republicans make it out to be, you take what you can get now and come back to it with Trump in the White House and/or Senate control. Both of those things are in play in November. Instead, you kill it and give the Democrats (you know, the dumbest people in the world, according to Republicans) a political win in which the GOP gets nothing.

If my house is on fire, and someone brings me a garden hose, I don’t say, “Nah. I’m good. Something better might come along eventually.”
Its only a political win if idiots are gullible enough to fall for it. How dumb is our nation?

That, along with term limits, would do a world of good for our country.
I definitely get the appeal of term limits, it truly feels that the longer politicians are in DC, the more corrupted and disconnected from the people they become. On the other hand, and the reason I don’t support them, is I expect that if you do that you exacerbate the revolving door effect which actually causes politicians to look past their time of service to their districts almost immediately and look ahead to extremely lucrative opportunities in lobbying afterward. AND even if you created stronger legal restrictions on such, the very fact of limiting terms also limits collective institutional knowledge (i.e. these novice members won’t know where the bathroom is, much less how to work with Leg. Counsel on writing a bill) so the effect of this is that unelected bureacrats and lobbyists power will exponentially grow. These term-limited legislators will become mere figureheads, utterly reliant on “the swamp” to help them do their jobs.

Lindsay Graham said "this is the best bill we will ever get"
Because he is getting kickbacks just like the rest of the lifelong politicians. Even though we are sending to Ukraine it's coming back to America in the form of buying weapons from US companies who own the Politicians.

Said like someone who heard the spin on it and not the bill itself nor the legal context in which it would operate.
Tell us you don’t know squat about the bill without saying you don’t know squat about the bill. LMBO.

please sir post the actual bill and highlight the part where illegals are turned away at the border

Once that trash bill was in place it would have hamstrung the next pub in office that might actually try to fix it. All the dims really want is as many poor and uneducated immigrants as they can stuff in the country so they can shower them with freebies and get more votes.

If dims cared about people they would do more to make life better for citizens but that’s not the goal. Maintaining power and their own personal road to riches at our expense is the ONLY driving force for the democrat party.

Did yall read about Kamala’s grifting brother in law??? He will be worse than Hunter. They are stealing taxpayers money rather than just simply selling influence. Trumps doj stopped that crap and what do you know. Ole Kamala and the big guy started it right back up as quick as they could. It is shameful what dims will do and what their voters will ignore. Dim voters obviously Love being slapped and spit on by their joyful hucksters in dc.

Term limits, I'm in on. Separate bills for each item would have hard time passing anything unless you have a majority in both the Senate and the House.
two reasons it would work:

1) it would force everyone to be on the record on a single issue with zero spin or rationalizing on why you voted for or against something in order to get something else. Total transparency.

2) the reason folks vote single issues down now is because they know they have leverage to get something they want…..adding something unrelated to the bill. If you removed that possibility folks would simply vote ye or ne on a specific issue.
