Reading all of the reports of Neuheisel gushing over Lambert got me thinking: what does the upside of this situation look like?
Aside from the obvious--we'll have a much more potent offense this season--the shock waves of the Lambert ordeal could extend much further than our 2015 season. Imagine for a second how potent the recruiting pitch could become if Lambert develops over the next couple of years and gets drafted.
Then Richt and Schottenheimer could walk into the living room of any elite QB recruit and remind them: "Remember that guy who was a disaster at Virginia and eventually lost his starting job? Look at what we did with him in two years. Imagine what we could do with you in four."
It's not like we don't already have a stellar track record with QBs and it's not like we're hurting to recruit great ones, but having that bit of compare and contrast analysis to offer could be a lethal recruiting weapon going forward.
All the more reason to get on board with the rest of the Lambert bandwagon.
