Burrow - 349
Jones - 417
Trask - 474
Young - 421

There’s one path. That’s an average of about 415 passing yards/game.

The 2019 loss to South Carolina was an anomaly of all anomalies, and I think it confirmed to Kirby we had to make a change. The only way to beat us is the light us up through the air. You’re not going to run on us consistently. Your QB is not going to run for 150 yards and beat us (see: Florida). You may do that to some extent, but you’re not going to win.

Interestingly, Young threw for 369 in the natty. It wasn’t quite enough. He needed to get to that 400 threshold. Burrow played against a Coley offense, and might have needed more to win in 2019 against a competent offense.

So, the question to ask yourself is who is capable of doing this? Who is capable of lighting us up for 4 quarters through the air.

Probably only Bama and OSU. Miss. St. might give us fits again, but it won’t be enough. Tennessee will try to do this, but can they protect him? Do they have the perimeter weapons to make play after play?

This is what counts. Perhaps USC could with Williams, but will they make it that far, and could they protect him?

This is who we are, and we should all be grateful. And finally, we could win a shootout if need be.
