was anyone else struck by the ugliness of Texas' stadium? Just from what I've seen on the highlights, the field itself looks very dated, there wasn't much to see behind the OF wall, and the grandstand also seemed very generic. You'd think at a place with a tradition and money like they have, they would play at a nicer place.
I saw our opening series at Baylor in 2010... that was (and I guess still is) a nice stadium. Nice grandstand with the Brazos River beyond the RF wall. I've been to Texas A&M twice and that place is immaculate... it has an upper deck and the railroad beyond the OF wall gets a lot of train traffic, which makes for a neat visual. The area around A&M's stadium is very nice also with plenty of parking and lots of tailgating. Both of those places had their unique, distinctive features.
I wasn't there this weekend and maybe Texas' place looks great in person. It didn't look like much from what I could see in the highlights.
