Just a few thoughts from Sanford Stadium last night..

- That was the first glimpse we have seen all year of what the potential of this team truly is. Yes, Tenn jumped out to an early 10-0 lead but we beat their ass the rest of the way outscoring them 31-7.
- Lost in the debacle against Ole Miss last week was I thought Beck started looking like himself again and last night was confirmation of that. He had a phenomenal game.
- For the first time all year we didn’t try to rotate 8 OL and it also happened to be our best game up front. Hmm.. Let’s hope we take that into account moving forward.
- Mondon is a difference maker. I have long been a huge fan of his as I thought he was the best ILB in CFB at the end of the 2022 season. He wasn’t close to healthy all last year but he looks fresh right now and it changes the dynamic of our defense. It also allows us to use Jalon more to his strengths.
- This might be controversial but Jackson and Bolden are our best Safety combo. Starks is a better fit at the Star/Rover type position and I hope we see more of it.
- Daniel Harris is our best pure cover corner. He has length, speed and hips that you can’t teach. I was down on him as I saw him basically quit on the sideline and pout against Miss State but he seems to have played with a fire since the UF game.
- Kirby has a clear disdain for Heupel. You could see it on the sideline all game. Very reminiscent of how he was with Mullen.
- Lastly, don’t EVER under appreciate what Kirby has done vs our rivals.. 8 straight wins now vs the hillbillies and honestly most of them haven’t even been that competitive.
