Couple of things with this UGA basketball team.

• Silas and Blue are DGD and UGA fans would be super lucky to have them both back for their junior seasons. Both will have huge offers to transfer, as veteran guards help you win tournament games. Have to keep both in-house.

•Somto needs another offseason, but he should be a force next year.

• Asa should come back for another year, as he needs to still develop his game. He is an NBA big man, but needs to get bigger and stronger. Think Nic Claxton. He left one year too early. Still got drafted first round but didn’t see significant minutes in the NBA until his fourth year in the league. (Also, he is damn near the same age as Chad Baker-Mazara for Auburn.)

• Savo needs some serious run next year. He needed a year to adapt to college ball, but could help Silas with PG duties.

• Abson and Godfrey should be back. Both solid big men that bring energy and leadership.

•Tyrin and Dakota are out of eligibility and Montgomery didn’t get much playing time late in the season. I doubt #2 comes back.

• DJ should also be back and have another year under his belt to get better.

• Need to find a solid shooter and 3 and D guy. Hell, maybe two of each and bring in one more big man. That would five players coming in, with 4 leaving (assuming Asa is gone). Should be another NCAA-caliber team with veteran leadership.

• All in all, it was a good season that many folks didn’t think the team would sniff the tourney. It was especially tough with the SEC being so dominant. Continue to build and hit the transfer portal with intent and fans will continue to become more and more vested in the program.
