When we beat Oklahoma and Kentucky (back-to-back ranked wins that had me so giddy as a Georgia Basketball fan. Why does that feel like centuries ago now?), we outrebounded those teams, didn’t turn the ball over, and we were the ones getting to the line and knocking down free throws. That’s how this team wins basketball games. We aren’t out-talenting most teams in the SEC.
This Georgia Basketball team has to win on the margins. We have to outrebound teams, out-hustle them, outfight them, protect the basketball, get to the line, and MAKE our free throws. When we don’t do those things, we simply don't have a chance to win.
Also, I’ve been vocal on how bad our guard play has been (can we say Leffew and Montgomery were busts??), but check this stat out (from Tyler of the Glory UGA podcast). We have not had a guard score more than 15pts THIS YEAR. Last time we had one (Montgomery) was 12/23/24 against Charles Southern. Not good.
