Trump signed a new EO focused on the law firm Perkins Coie.

Not only does it bar PC from federal courts, it seeks to withdraw federal contracts from any entity that does business with PC.

This is absurdly illegal, but Trump’s DOJ will proceed as demanded until the courts slap them down, which they 100% will.

Political retribution for a law firm that has worked with Trump’s opponents. Every accusation of the politicization of our federal enforcement agencies is a confession.

If you are curious what fascism looks like, this is it.

Trump supporters. Let’s hear the defense of this patently unconstitutional attempt.

I don't recall you squawking when the DOJ was routinely piercing attorney/client privilege and trying to intimidate attorneys and reducing Trump's right to legal counsel. My hunch is this EO gets thrown out but I have no issue with Trump playing hardball after he's spent the last 12 yrs with the bureaucracy throwing heaters at his head.

IIRC, the Biden DOJ went after almost everyone that had previously worked for Trump and put them in jail.

What is it they say , elections have consequences. ? Wait until Kash gets his footing , you aint seen nothing yet.
I was about to say the same thing. He won. Let’s see if the same lawfare hurts Trump. I have a feeling more people will understand his stance than Will thinks. We aren’t going to like everything that Trump does, but after the complete bullshit he and his family were put thru I don’t blame him for a little retribution. I would rather his focus be on the country fully, but I get it.

Yes. That’s why I included the link to it in my post.

Attorney/client privilege can be pierced via the crime/fraud exemption, which multiple
courts (that included conservative judges) deemed was relevant in those cases.

Trump avoided severe legal peril by winning reelection. To give credit where credit is due, that’s a spectacularly effective way to avoid convictions. But he didn’t win a single case on its merits.

All of the cases were fictitious and in democraticly held and controlled states, get smart.

It's a very high bar and is a cornerstone of our Democracy. The act of going after multiple attorneys that represented Trump is a lot closer to fascism than going after a firm that 100% paid to have a false document produced in order to affect an election. If one expense entry can be turned in to 34 felony charges, I'd say Perkins Coie has some folks that should be facing a firing squad.

This is such a bullshit position.

The DOJ and state AGs went after people that they credibly accused of breaking the law. That included presenting detailed evidence to secure indictments, exactly as the system is supposed to work.

A number of those same people pled or were found guilty of what they were accused of. Most who were lawyers were disbarred as well.

Trump was saved in the documents case by a technicality applied by a highly partisan judge that most legal scholars agree was bullshit. But Cannon and SCOTUS dragged the case out as long as possible, Thomas dropped a throwaway line in an entirely unrelated case that gave her an out, and Trump won the election. Impressively effective if nothing else.

You know what didn’t happen? Biden didn’t issue an EO punishing the law firms working to defend Trump in court. So if Trump thinks PC or anyone else has broken the law, he certainly has a DOJ that will pursue any prosecution Trump desires. Make it happen in the courts, as the system is designed to operate.

Unless you know there is no case to make and no prosecution with a chance in hell of succeeding. That’s where we are now.

Then it is not actually facsism now is it? As long as they follow the courts rulings, it proves to not be that whatsoever

It is childish, petty, shitty, scummy etc etc, but only fascist if he/his admin ignores the court court rulings, which as you said will 1000% shoot this down

First , lets just assume that almost everyone in Washington is a criminal.

When is the last time that a DOJ made it a position to go after the staff of a previous POTUS? When was the last time a former POTUS home was raided ? When is the last time a State went after a business deal that no laws were broken ,and there were no victims and the deal was completed to both parties satisfaction? NEVER.

You guys started this, now you can sit back and FAFO.

Well, here’s the new Deputy Director of the f-ing FBI stating unequivocally that the administration should ignore the courts because Trump controls the enforcement arm of the court system.

Is that fascist enough for you?

So I misspoke. The DOJ will proceed until the courts stop them, and then Trump and his team will decide which case they will test the system with.

He did a similar thing in his efforts to stay in office after the 2020 election. But this time he’s ensuring that the people who represented the guardrails that constrained him last time have been replaced with people who will enthusiastically support his plans. That’s why he started with Matt Gaetz at DOJ and has placed patently unqualified true believers in at DOJ and FBI.

It’s coming. It’s only a matter of when.

A suggestion is not fascism. Actions are. Dem officials suggested multiple occasions Biden ignore courts rulings. Are the dems fascists? Was it fascism to suggest the dems pack the courts with more justices so that they automatically had controlling power? Or would it only have been fascism had they acted on it? When the dems had the slight Sen majority and many suggested getting rid of the fillibuster, was that fascism? Or no cause they did not act on it

And as many times as Trump LIED about the 20 election, he still left office on 1/20/21. He left in a childish manner yes. But he left. He has been petty with everything, yes over his first 4 year term and first month+ this term he has still followed the law

I don't like it if it is as simple as you say. If that is a private law firm that has done nothing but represent clients seeking to take Trump down, I will agree here.

That said, Bump this when actual political opponents are indicted on anything, much less indicted on legal grounds with no precedent whatsoever. I hate all of it no matter whose side it is on.

I said "If you are curious what fascism looks like, this is it". Attempting to decree an extra-legal persecution and effective shutdown of a law firm for the crime of representing your prior political rival fits the description perfectly, so I stand by my statement.

I guess we aren't allowed to use the word fascism until it's already been successfully implemented. If it makes you feel better about my statement, I'll revise it to say that this is a blatant attempt at fascist rule by Trump.

If you can find me a statement by a senior Biden administration leader that's even in the same vicinity as what the new DD of the FBI stated, I'll review and respond.

Everything else you listed is operating within the checks and balances defined in Constitution, including the discussion of packing the courts. There are a whole host of problems with that approach, but the number of SCOTUS justices is not defined in the Constitution and has in fact varied over the years. Same regarding the filibuster.

Again, if you want to share the specific Dem equivalent of this recent EO, I'll respond. I'm interested in seeing what you come up with.

I am the only one somewhat meeting you in the middle. Damn will. I would rather him focus on the country. He said he would take out the trash. Guess he is doing just that.

If you want to continue to put your head in the sand about the lawfare you do you. The conviction didn’t matter because anyone with half a brain could see thru it. Again, unless you are a hardcore Dem or have severe tds. No one even mentioned this in ads the last three months of the campaign, because it was seen as being dirty and ridiculous. Even in appeal the lawyers in one case weren’t arguing the merits of the case. Just trying to keep from being sanctioned or worse. Even letits james was caught doing the same thing on a loan. If you believe Mari largo is only worth 17 million dollars like the judge said, I really don’t how you function daily.

Oh. And finally. The only thing your fingers should type about the doc Case is zinger your were right and I was wrong. Period. End of story.

I told yiu not to bet on jack smith. It wasn’t just the judge. He created a million docs to go thru. The other lawfare cases caused a delay. They had to have time to go thru all of them. The one possible legit case and he bungled it. Just like I said he would. Just like nearly every important case he has handled. This eventually allowed the judge to wait on the decision and people to question whether Jack smith was constitutionally appointed. It couldn’t have been a bigger f up on the one legit possibility you had.

Just type. You were right. I was wrong. That is all you have left to do.

Another stupid take. One of your dumbest.

Judge Cannon dismissed the case based on the determination that Merrick Garland's appointment of Jack Smith was unconstitutional. That has not one single thing to do with Jack Smith's competence or how he was prosecuting the case. No "bungling" involved.

Of course, the appeal was going to be before the same 11th circuit that had already slapped Judge Cannon down twice before, and her weak ruling ignored a century of precedent and established legal norms. Trump's election dispensed with the need for that.

So, you can try and blame Garland, although he clearly followed established precedent. You can only blame Jack Smith if you completely fail to understand what happened and why, which seems to be the case here.

A typical post with no insight and no argument.

If you don’t want to read my posts, feel free to block me.
Trump wasn’t credibly guilty and the backlog of unprosecuted crime grew and grew. Of course pretending they were going to prosecute thieves, rapists and murderers was part of the game. They did nothing. It was all lie, all a sham. And the prosecutors in those cases are headed for disbarment in one case and bankruptcy in the other. You’re so fn repetitive, I think I will block you

I said it from the beginning about Jack smith. Just Type I was wrong zinger and you were right and we can move on. You sound mad will. I know this is one of your triggers. Even got you name calling. Relax Francis. 😂. I know Jack smith is a hero of yours.

Don’t be naive and continue to put your head in the sand. The very end you are right. That is what happened. But it only got to that point because of gross mismanagement. Not just by Jack smith but by Letitia James and Fani Willis. Those cases along with Alvin bragg’s case cut into the only worthwhile case you had. You can only look in the mirror. The delays caused by these other cases, and by the shear amount of material Jack smith put forward. It completely screwed up his case. I told you he was an idiot. And jack smith didn’t disappoint.

Nothing new. Expect many more. The man is a moron.
Dont start some shit you cant finish.

When Biden went after Trump, was that fascism? By definition , yes it was. When Biden ignored the Supreme Court and waived student loan debt, was that fascist? We can go all day bro.
No it is not. Those are more like differences in policy. They were not personal attacks. Biden never issued any EOs like that. Your reading and understanding what you read is woefully short. Must also be careful about what you listen to. Might look into getting a hearing aid that translates.
