Reading the liberal take on this board, I find it amazing at the power President wields.

In less than 90 days of his presidency, he has tanked the markets and our economy is collapsing…..

For a man who hasn’t been president for 90 days they sure are detail oriented.

When you got a whipping from your Dad (many here obviously were never spanked or disciplined), when you behaved wrongly, it hurt for a moment.

Our sins as leadership are being corrected, much like a whipping.

As a parent, I can wish that bad behavior from my children will just go away, but without correction from the parent, it doesn’t.

And that is our problem. We want government to take care of us. We want to be men when we are girls and girls when we are men.

We don’t want to utilize free education. We would rather be a victim, learn nothing and expect magical salaries or gov assistance to support us.

We want to hire elected that gives us stuff and don’t care how they spend OUR money.

And all that is more important than fixing the obvious problems with our country.

Because we don’t care as long as we can have our stuff.

84 days the man has been in office.

We are getting the spanking we deserve because we have been so narcissisticly rude and uncaring for the greater good of a country.

All politicians are open to opinion, good or bad.

But my goodness, the comments here are amazing. When one is a zealot, no logic applies, just blind agenda.

The man can be criticized, but the topics of criticism are silly assumptions and repeated legacy media buzz phrases.

I also love when one of us, with cute board names, assume we know better than the President. Of course we don’t, we just hear the comments on TV.

At least be rational, with a touch of logic in the art of criticism.

Nice post.

Too many feel entitled and thinks the world owes them. Nothing is free, we all pay one way or the other.

People/countries need to pull their own weight, unless they are mentally/physically challenged. It took years and years for the country to get into this position, plenty of blame to go around.

If we don’t try, nothing happens unless maybe a BIG sink hole opens up….can’t keep kicking the can down the road.

Change doesn’t happen without change. We certainly need to be fiscally responsible or it ends.

On a side note - my Dad never spanked or whipped me. All he had to do was talk to me and it worked. I never wanted to disappoint him.

My Mom was a different story, thinks she enjoyed it - especially making me pick out my own switch and bring it back to her.

Always have used my Dad’s approach on my own kids when they were growing up. They both have turned out great so far.

Nonetheless, hope all of what Trump is doing works, as most all people do imo. Some of it is logical and some can be questioned, but to it’s all gonna have to play out - especially the tariffs.

At least he has the coconuts to try.

The alternative (“KAMALA”) would have been much worse IYAM. I wouldn’t have wanted to live in that world. Pretty sure that sink hole would open up much sooner.

Honestly, sometimes it’s years after leaving office before we can truly look back on an administration and decide whether or not it was successful.
We’ve become too much of an immediate response society. Both sides.

Like a football game or a season, let's see how it goes in the first couple of quarters....at least Trump and team are trying to do something, not letting status quo go and not intentionally hurting the country

I’m just curious for someone to post the actual number of days.

Because I’m sure if Kamala won and tanked the economy, everyone on here would not be talking about it.

Please bump when the economy is actually “tanked”.

From where I sit the biggest problem in the economy is the fact that lower and middle class folks have been crushed by inflation, high interest rates, and lack of available credit for small business. Hint: This didn’t happen in the last 60 days.

Glad we are doing things to correct it.

So how many days do we need to wait before talking about anything positive or anything negative?

Not sure why no one is answering. It’s a simple question.

“anything positive”??…..okay, how about Trump has the bull by the horns.

Unless you has something specific in mind.

Can’t tell you with certainty whether or not trumps economic plan will work or not. I think it will because it relies on tried and true principles that let private industry do its thing free from regulation and draconian taxes.

But I can say with certainty that it will be year end before we know. The economy works with lagging effect on both fiscal and monetary policy. J money Powell says it in every presser. Lagging and uncertain.

It isn’t like the border where Trump is honestly probably getting undue credit because all he’s doing is enforcing the laws that Biden wouldn’t. And creating a deterrent message. That shit was immediate.

Hostage releases in Gaza. Immediate and looks like another ceasefire imminent.

May take a few weeks but likely some kind of conclusion in Ukraine.

Economy is different. Good or bad. It is a lag effect. Same with Biden. Took a minute for his disastrous fiscal policy to actually translate to unaffordable groceries, housing, etc. We were clicking on all cylinders in 2021.

A number of conservative voices are expressing concern about Trump’s chaotic and inconsistent use of wide scale tariffs. We are on track to have the highest average tariff rate since 1948, and there is no example in modern economics of tariffs being used the way that Trump is using them driving positive economic outcomes.

We are however seeing price spikes, and we will likely see more of them in the near future. So much for “Day One” price reductions as promised.

Markets and corporations crave stability. Trump’s approach to dealing with Canada, Greenland/Denmark and the rest of NATO seems to be focused on intentional destabilization of longstanding relationships. That may be a strategy that works out long term, but it’s a huge gamble with a lot of downside as well.

I don’t think it’s out of bounds to criticize Trump. He is going to make mistakes. Every president does. I think making statements about the stock market with long term meaning is dumb. It went up and down with big swings when Biden was in office too. The day one stuff is typical campaign hoopla. I think anyone with a working knowledge of our economy knows no quick fix is available. We have a real estate correction coming. Car prices as well. As a country we put our self in massive debt to pay for the crazy rising costs. There is a fix. But it isn’t quick and painless.

I get your meaning about Kamala, but that is hard to really validate. She is part of the former administration. So she could technically be responsible for something that happened with the prior administration

Tanked the economy? This is the crap that is said that is so divisive.

Negative and positive concerns are not the problem sensationalized and over the top exaggerations are the problem. They do not promote discourse as they only reactionary emotional dialogue.

How about 366 days? Or 367 days?
My problem isn’t criticism, it’s the bases of criticism. Most of it is grasping for straws.

When someone complains, and it’s obvious it’s bias jibberish just to complain, it becomes background noise.

I appreciate that you put a number to it.

So I won’t see any posts from you for 9 months talking about any accomplishments of this Trump administration?

Accomplishments and disappointments are valid now.

But both must be attributed to processes that are a logical and valid in context to the accomplishment or disappointment expressed.

It cannot be be made just because he now holds the title.

President Trump may just be that. He has created an unbelievable following and has used that power unlike any President in my lifetime or any that I have studied. For better or worse, he has transformed the office.

It's a sliding scale based on the time it takes for a decision to make an impact. For example the egg price criticism a week after Trump took office was patently absurd. Otoh, his decision to deport illegals to El Salvador without a hearing is something that could be criticized immediately.

So, if you want to criticize tactics like being mean to NATO members, it's open season. If you want to criticize the results of his criticism of NATO members, it would make sense to hold your fire and even give him credit if it produces the desired results.

Yea, I tried my best to apply that notion to the thousands of critical posts you made from 1/20/21 to 1/20/25.

I have been applying criticism of liberal logic on this board since 1996.

The debate of logic isn’t criticism it’s debate.

Many on this board attack because it doesn’t fit their agenda, regardless of logical truth.

We can’t make truth, truth speaks for itself.

We can’t define what a woman is because sexual desires declare our beliefs.

We call our system of government a democracy to somehow assume mob rule is valid. This fuels the defense of violence to move legislation.

We can’t define “Truth” because it might infringe on what we want.

It’s why people have a problem humbling themselves to God. We don’t want truth. We want what we want.

Tell me what isn’t true in what I said. And not a word was criticism.
