Sorry this rises to the level of a specific presidential address. His weak ass statements through his administration are an explicit admission to me that he doesn’t want to appear out front on this. He doesn’t want the sound bite that might hurt him with those guys. It is the polar opposite of his reaction on any other perceived alighted group. Trump did tell the Proud Boys to stand back and stand by, during a televised debate, and now most of the leadership of that group is serving decades in a federal penitentiary after being convicted of sedition. That is a fact.

And Trump praises his followers who have been convicted of felony assault on LEOs every opportunity he has, and has promised to pardon them if elected. Pardoning criminals who were engaged in a violent political act for your benefit is a purely authoritarian action.
