It's a joke that apparently bombed, based on a recurring issue with the island. That doesn't make it "racist", which was the argument above. It makes it a bad joke.
I doubt this has any effect on the outcome of the election. The only place this is getting any play is in liberal circle jerks/therapy sessions.

I never mentioned it was racist but folks will see it that way and they are allowed to make that inference. It's human nature. Trumps team knew he was going to say it. They didn't have him omit the "joke" even though they knew of how bad it might play with fringe voters ("doesn't reflect the views of the trump campaign" statement has already hit the wires). They now have to spend the next 8 days in damage control because they are fools for letting this guy speak on behalf of trump.
He's already got your vote. But for voters on the margins this might turn out to be the knife in the trump campaign. In an election where the margins matter, this is a BFD.
Nope: This is a huge deal. It was trump himself that dropped a hard R in a national address from the Oval.
That is the interpretation from folks who grabbed this drop of water from someone no one has ever heard of, out of a sea of what was an overwhelmingly positive event. Like a spastic 2nd grader tattle tailing on the kid in the back of the room “oooohhhh, ohhhhhh! Look teacher!!!!” At some point the teacher is gonna say “lighten up Francis”. And that is exactly what the Country is saying now.

Sure the joke was about the trash issue on the island. That’s why so many republicans are desperately trying to walk it back.
I guess the joke about blacks carving watermelons for Halloween was actually about the deep horticultural traditions of black society in American and the joke about Latinos having a lot of babies and having unprotected sex and equating that to Latinos entering the the country was actually deep social commentary on the role of Catholicism in Latino society.

The MSG rally was totally normal. Nothing to see here. Calling a political opponent evil and the anti-Christ while waving a cross in totally normal. Having a top Trump staffer, whose family fled Belarus and emigrated to the US in the 20th century, say “America is for Americans and Americans only” is a fantastic message. Very “shining city on a hill”. Fits perfectly with Trump’s “poisoning the blood of our country” and “vermin” rhetoric.
Maybe the Progs can influence those that would vote for the idiocracy but a bad joke doesn't matter one iota in terms of providing better educational opportunities for the disadvantaged, providing incentives for companies to expand and manufacture in the U.S., the national security implications of our cozy relationship with China, and on and on. Yeah, let's change some votes because someone told a bad joke and ignore that Dems are literally calling half of the population fascist that are voting for Hitler.

This specific comedian roasts/insults everybody. Literally. He does it on his podcast. It's his shtick. I prefer Triumph, the insult comic dog.

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter whether I think it’s a “thing”. It matters if Puerto Rican and Latino voters decide it’s a “thing”, which it appears they already have. Great execution by Team Trump as a closing argument in a close election.
To everyone who thinks that is an isssue, I talk to four Puerto Ricans every single day of my life. I will ask today. Most would likely laugh. All of them, are sick of this admin, and their immigration policy is considered a tremendous insult to them. All have already voted for trump, went to his rally last week in Dacula, and said we waited two years to get here. We had to earn it. What is happening now is like spitting in the face of those immigrants who earned the right to be here.

If it offends them, that is who you want to change their vote right. Why ask the ones already voting for Kamala? Seems like common sense stone. I would bet you can’t find many undecided pr voters. Anyone voting on personality or potentially offensive stuff coming from the Trump camp likely voted for Harris the second early voting started. For better or worse the country knows Trump better than any candidate ever. None of this shit sticks late in the game.
Bottom line - whoever is running trump campaign is totally outplaying their counterpart on the other side. McDonald’s, Rogan, and MSG. All highly successful. And honest democrats are admitting that.

Correct me if I am wrong, but these jokes ( although the setting could most certainly be questioned, in my opinion) but it was done by a roast comedian. Does not change the fact that there were white/brown/black speakers.
Don't think that would qualify MSNBC to compare this convention/gathering to the Nazi gathering that took place years ago, but that is what the message is being portrayed.

If I didn’t know any better - after 2 attempts on his life, I’d say there is more than one reason that Kamala and company are accusing him of being a Nazi and a fascist.
As far as the comedian goes, I say that was just bad humor.

If I were advising him, I would not advise him to go to Madison Square Garden, because he is not going to win New York no matter what. But he has done a lot of things. I would not advise, and it seems to be working out for him.
