This seems to throw a wrench into things.
What makes it really bad is The Turks have already admitted it was intentional, claiming the Russian craft violated their air space.
Turkey being a member of NATO has had one foot in the East and one in the West for decades. It's been just about impossible to read them, We might find out some things soon.

Turkey wants al-Assad out, Russia wants him in. On the verge of a much bigger cluster fock over there imo

the news reporting that turkey told the russian plane 10 times to leave there air space before firing .

Of course Russia is claiming it never left Syrian air space. We need everybody focused on ISIS, especially since so many countries are involved in such a tight space and so many alternate agendas to suppress.

I'm of the opinion we have it backwards. We ought to remove Assad first and then go full bore against ISIS. Most "experts" seem to prefer taking out ISIS first. I disagree because taking out ISIS is going to be more difficult, widespread and longer. Instead, take out Assad first, which will be easier and quicker. With him out of the way, more Gulf states will participate in the fight against ISIS, and likewise they will be more willing to help rebuild Syria. Unlike Iraq, there will be no vacuum because so many other countries will be involved. To be sure, there will be political struggles, but with Assad and ISIS out of the way the probability of success increases and the flow of refugees decreases.

I wonder why our wunderkind, King POTUS hasn't figured this out? The libs and the MSM keep reminding us how smart he is.

Assad has been anything but soft, and he has the backing of both Russia and Iran.
Russia in fact has been mostly pretending to fight ISIS while attacking anti Assad forces. The plane shot down today was in an area where there isn't an ISIS presence, but there are anti Assad forces. It's a very messy situation.

Putin is saying the Russian plan was 1 Km within Syrian airspace. 1 Km 10,000 feet up in a fighter jet is nothing. His plans should have never come that close to Turkish airspace. The Russians are playing a very dangerous game to show that they are still relevant on the world stage. They won't retaliate against the Turks because of NATO article 5. They F with them then they have to suffer the wrath of all of Europe.

Erodgan, the rat bastard Islamist Prime Minister of Turkey is an ISLAMIST who is ALLIED with ISIS.

Those oil truck of whom you and Owebama are so worried about, deliver STOLEN SYRIAN oil to TURKEY at cut rate prices. His Army trains ISIS members, his hospitals treat their wounded.

He personally moved Turkey from a Western Ally to an ally of Moslem terrorists and gives them NATO information.

If Russia wants to nuke Turkey, NATO should not interfer

If this president makes our military fight Russia over this if they retaliate, there needs to be a revolution in this country. Not one American servicemans life should be sacrificed for a bunch of ISIS lovers.

NATO's top committee is having an emergency meeting over this today.
Nobody is declaring war over this, these are ADULTS. That doesn't mean there won't be a dangerous escalation though. History is littered with the bones of soldiers of wars nobody wanted.
There is zero chance NATO declares war on Russia over this incident, even less chance We do.

One word of caution: This is exactly the kind of thing that brought about World War I. Secret alliances, treaty obligations, longstanding grudges...

True, and nobody wanted war then either. Only ISIS wants war, it's very similar to some Christian sects in they think they're forwarding their version of end of times prophecy.
It's a very sticky situation with so many moving parts, it could easily fly off the rails. We do have international deliberative bodies now set up for these kinds of things though. I think better communications might save us from all out war.

Yep, remember a group of Serbian terrorists caused WWI; it resulted in the end of the Ottoman Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Bolshevik Revolution that brought about the end of the Russian Empire, the destruction of the German Empire, and set the stage for fascism and communism to blossom in Europe. Not to mention millions of young mens' lives lost for NOTHING.

It was absolutely the biggest unintended domino effect in all history. It also did more to shape the 20th century than anything IMO.
I hope and believe We have enough international bodies to serve as breaks to keep things from completely spiraling out of control this time around.

Nothing will come of this isolated incident. History is littered with Jets and commercial aircraft being shot down without further escalation. It's a hostile environment and situation; all parties involved are fully aware something like this may happen and probably was going to happen.
