Classic country, not new stuff. Mel McDaniel always gets forgotten, but he was a really good one.

Never really have been a country music fan, but knew this fellow when I lived in Nashville in the 90’s - 2000.

Would see him maybe 5 or more days a week at the gym, sometimes worked out together. Back then, he played at the Bluebird Cafe weekly (Nashville).

He lived maybe 1/4 of a mile from me in another neighborhood over from mine.

Can remember him moving to Atlanta sometime in the late 90’s and I heard he had cut a couple of albums. I was really happy for the fellow and didn’t think too much about it…..until I was watching one of the Super Bowls in early 2000.

Lo and behold, there he was at halftime performing. Great guy, always laughing, smiling and joking around.
